WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE BELIEVE
Introducing our Church
We are a Bible-believing Church with faith in the grace and mercy and kindness of God. We trust in the message that Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Our purpose statment is : living for God, loving one another and leading others to Christ. We seek to maintain a high importance on pleasing God in our lives, caring for one another and taking an interest in the community, that they may know the truth of God.
Here are some basic principles of what this Church believes.
The Bible is God's Word and Truth
We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative Word. We believe that the study and proclamation of the Word of God should be central to the life of the Christian and the life of the Church.
People Need Salvation
Nothing we could ever do would earn salvation. We cannot save ourselves, we need someone else to save us, and only Christ can do this.
We are Saved by Grace Alone
We believe that God through Jesus Christ alone is responsible for our salvation. He alone can save us, and He saves all whom God chooses to call to Himself.
This belief in God's sovereign work in salvation however, does not remove our responsibility, the need for our own confession of sins and trust in the promises of God.
Church is Important
We believe that God intends those who love Him to meet and worship together in local churches, as they are the visible expression of Christ's body. We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit is essential to the life of the local Church and each Christian.
We believe that the Church community must minister and witness God's love and charity to each other and to the local community.
God is Sovereign
Because our God is holy we must humbly submit ourselves to Him in all ways. We depend on Him in prayer and in child-like trust, even in times of suffering and trial. God promises never to let us go through times of suffering and trial alone.
